Evelyn is hanging in there, she had a pretty peaceful night. She is on good pain meds and I can press a button to give her a controlled amount when it is needed. She is much more swollen and bruised today. They said she is on course and may look worse tomorrow and Saturday. They just took her central line and urinary catheter out. Dave and I are taking turns holding her...she is soooo puffy and swollen all over from the excess fluids. She also just had her first 2 ounces of pedialyte and LOVED it. We are due to move to the regular ped floor tonight. Her pain is increased some and we think she gets upset trying to open her eyes. Just one whisper and touch though and she calms down. Visitors are welcome and we appreciate so much everyone's thoughts.
We are all glad that she is doing well. I hope that you and David are getting plenty of rest as well. I wish we lived closer, but can at least send our warmest wishes for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're able to hold her. Make sure you each give yourselves a break every once in a while. It'll keep you sane. We love you!
ReplyDeleteLet us know what room you move to and Beth and I will come to visit.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to pop on to let you know I am following Evie's progress and keeping each of you in my prayers. Hang in there Mom and Dad...

I'm so glad you're able to hold her. I'm sure that's a great comfort to her and to you. Do they know yet how long her stay will be?
